Three Tiers of Professional Development

Alastair Grant Teacher Training delivers a tiered approach to professional development, to meet the evolving needs of English language teachers at all stages of their careers. Each level reflects a different degree of pedagogical depth, practical engagement, and professional recognition.
Ignite (Bronze Award Courses)
Fully asynchronous workshop sessions designed for teachers who want to access practical, focused professional development on their own schedule. The sessions focus on targeted aspects of classroom practice and pedagogy.
Ignite is designed to provide immediate, practical insights with a high level of academic clarity and professional relevance. The sessions are for teachers seeking flexible CPD opportunities without additional coursework or follow-up.
Each course includes a brief assessment to support learning consolidation.
Certificate of course achievement awarded upon successful completion.

Forge Ahead (Silver Award Courses)
A targeted series of development-focused workshops, either standalone or delivered as part of a 2–3 workshop sequence, intended for teachers looking to consolidate and deepen their understanding of specific teaching areas. The sessions are live, participatory, reflective, and structured to support applied professional growth.
Forge Ahead courses focus on real-time interaction and collaboration, while allowing flexibility through asynchronous follow-up tasks designed to reinforce and consolidate key learning outcomes.
Each course includes a brief asynchronous evaluation to ensure engagement with course content and consolidation of key learning outcomes.
Certificate of course achievement awarded upon successful course completion and evaluation.

Lead the Way (Gold Award Courses)
Advanced-level development programmes designed for experienced educators seeking rigorous professional development, academic enrichment, and career progression. This includes the flagship Delta Module 1 and Delta Module 3 preparation courses, as well as comparable CPD programmes.
All Lead the Way courses are full-length professional development programmes leading to Cambridge-assessed qualifications. They follow the complete syllabus and assessment requirements for Delta Module 1 and Delta Module 3. The courses are delivered through a combination of live online sessions and asynchronous tasks, and run over a period of up to four months. Continuous formative feedback is provided throughout, with a final summative assessment component.
